This was a nice hotel. The staff was helpful and friendly. I would recommend purchasing the valet parking package which includes parking on site. It is a nightmare driving into the city and the last thing you want to do is try and find a place to park. Make sure you drive right to the front of the hotel where they have 3 spots reserved for people who purchase the on site valet parking. When I first arrived, I drove past because all of the spots were occupied. When I circled the block, I parked about a block away so I could register. I was gone for less than 15 minutes. When I got back to my car, there was a $60 ticket on it because I did not have my flashers on. There was no sign indicating that I had to even have them on. This is not a very good way to make a visitor feel welcome to say the least. This was not the hotels fault, however. Just a suggestion for other travelers. The continental breakfast was great and well stocked.

The location couldn't be better! And the staff was extremely helpful and courteous -- everyone from the valet, to the bellman, to the desk staff. Shortly after we arrived in the room, we got a call from the front desk asking if everything was OK. I mentioned being disappointed that the room did not have a refrigerator and one was delivered within minutes. The decor was lovely and everything was spotlessly clean. The room was small, but comfortable. The view was unpleasant (an alley), but considering the location of the hotel no one except the rooms facing the street had much of a view. The price was right. I wish parking were more reasonable ($ per night), but that's just the city, not this particular hotel. We would definitely stay here again.

Good: Service, clean room, great free breakfast, great price for downtown. Bad: Very loud - located next to a hospital (fire trucks and ambulances throughout the day), people talking in hallways at all hours of the night. No on-screen tv guide. Very hard to identify stations. Pillows are terrible. Only 3 types of soda in the vending machine, and none of them are caffeine free (only pepsi, diet pepsi, or mt. dew). We didn't care for the new decor - very modern and cold. Plus the new lamps in our room were big and awkward and one of them didn't work.

Room was wheelchair accessible, clean and ultra modern looking. the bed and tons of pillows made for a great night sleep. Quiet room on the 3rd floor. No window view but the window did open for fresh air. the handicap shower was huge and nice to play in. Front desk staff were super helpful. The two HDTV were captivating~!! They made it hard to leave the room n the morning. The free breakfast was very good for a free breakfast with lots of variety. We found out on the last day that we could have used the pool and coin op laundry at their sister hotel across the street. , Now they tell us. We would recommend this for families and newlyweds like us!. Free in room Internet was nice! The price was high compared to the other hotel we used during the week of our vacation.

On the positive side, our room was very attractively priced and was very clean. Location is great if Michigan Avenue is your destination. We (wife and self) had pre-paid thru online travel website for a guest room with a king bed, as shown on our confirmation. We arrived well in advance of the normal check in time only to be told that all king-bed rooms were already booked and occupied. We told the front desk staff of our confirmation and were basically told ""too bad"", that guests who book directly thru the hotel received the best values first. The room we were given was way too small for 2 people, with no closet and a very tiny bath area. It would have been great for a single traveler but not for 2 people. We will probably NOT return to this particular hotel.
