My stay at Doubletree was just fine. Three nights across a weekend for pleasure in a wonderful city. Staff was very nice including concierge advice about the best pizza and the Handcock viewing deck. When I asked for the business center though I was directed to a room with 3 pc's and 2 printers and when I tried to pull up my flight ticket confirmation I was charged $* for the priviledge and another $* to print the page.First time I have been charged for in house business center use. That was disappointing.

You couldn't ask for a better hotel right in the center of the City! The hotel is ideally located only a block from Magnificent Mile, two blocks from Navy Pier, and close to many restaurants. There is a very reasonably priced Einstein Bagels in the lobby that was great for quick breakfasts. The free wireless internet in the lobby was so nice! There were lots of outlets to plug in my laptop and I was able to use the internet everytime I wanted to...very reliable and fast. The rooms were great!! The beds were so comfortable, there was a window seat, and plenty of room to spread our belongings all over the room. There were 3 of us on business travel for a full week and we had enough room to be comfortable. The bathroom was very clean and modern. I really enjoyed the modern/art-deco style of the entire hotel. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!! Highly recommended!!

The location of the Doubletree was great and the room was nice for the price. Check-in went very smoothly and we enjoyed the free cookies. The only negatives I would like to share are 1) The walls of the rooms were VERY thin. We could hear normal conversations of the folks next door to us. 2) My husband's key stopped working and it was VERY difficult for him to get back into the room. It took about an hour and this was AFTER he had provided his ID at check-in for just this purpose. 3) The bed wasn't as comfortable as other Doubletree beds. It may just have needed to be replaced.

The Doubletree Hotel was a fabulous choice. It is located 3 blocks east of Michigan Ave on Ohio. We stayed in a room with 2 Queen-size beds, which is so much better than 2 doubles. The mattresses were soooo comfortable and the beds had great pillows and comforters. We will definitely stay there the next time!

Room: 14th fl, street view, quiet, clean, comfortable beds! Bath: shower, no tub, pedestal sink (bring hanging makeup case) no shelves, or counter. Front desk: busy it was July 4th weekend, but they had it moving along quickly. Conceierge: Very helpful, ask which bus goes to where you want to go. Gift shop: lots of Chicago souvenirs at a good price, nice lady working there. Nice bar w/free internet (which I used) and Einsten's Bagels (breakfast, reasonable). Domincks Grocery for waters, travel stuff... across the street. We took advise from reviews from this site and took the train (Blue) from the airport to the Bus station (Bus 65) then walked 2 blocks to the hotel....about an hour trip. On the way back we took a cab from the hotel to the train station ($10). The hotel desk will tell you what bus to take to get anywhere they told us which one to take to the Aquarium. We did the Chicago Trolley Hop On/Hop Off tour, loved it felt like I saw most of the city! Must Do : We ate at both Giordano's and Gino's East Pizzeria, we liked Giordano's best. Timothy O'Tooles across the hotel, very nice bar, good drinks.... We ate breakfast at McDonalds (2 blocks over) cheap, then Fox and Obels Market .great food, busy, kinda pricey. Dinner was at Rock Bottom Brewery, great food, reasonable....of course the Pizzerias, and at Blue Agave, food was so-so, drinks were Good.
