First off the room was smaller than mine at home, finding the pool is like going on a treasure hunt, except there was no treasure at the end. The pool is a JOKE, you had to go to 2 dfferent floors then find the correct elevator to get to it. The pool was OLD, COLD and CLOUDY... The hotel must be close to a bar because we heard every song played there until late in the night, on top of the floor above us, every step they took we heard it. Staff makes you feel unwanted, and unappreciative.

Usually when you stay in a big town, you get a tiny, overpriced room and have to pay for parking to boot. Not this hotel! The room, although not the size of a hotel in the suburbs, was a decent size and nicely updated/decorated. What really made our stay was the staff! My husband accidentially left his cell phone in the room and we didn't notice until two days later, in South Dakota. After a few calls with the Kristy of Houskeeping, the phone was turned in by Adalia and --for a small charge--was mailed home and waiting for us when we returned from our vacation.

The inner workings of the hotel were quite dated but the rooms were clean. Can't beat the location and the free parking, only a 15 minute brisk walk to navy pier and even shorter to all the shopping and restaurants you could want.

Stayed here while visiting Chicago during our daughter's spring break. My expectations were not very high, but I knew we wouldn't be spending much time at the hotel anyway. I was pleasantly surprised. The rooms are a bit small and it took a while to figure out which of the separate elevators would and would not get you to your room. But the location (5 blocks east to Michigan Ave and another 5 blocks east to Navy Pier), the price, the service, and the free parking were all positives. The hotel restaurant was good and very reasonably priced. Plus there were several eateries, a gas station, and a drug store all within one block. The McDonald's across the street is very cool! Short 15-minute drive to Adler Planetarium, Shedd Aquarium, and Field Museum (all located together), and highly recommend the Museum of Science and Technology which is about 15 minutes south of that. Overall very pleased.
