Our room was dirty, a wet towel was left in the bathroom. The bathroom sink was broken and would not drain. Beds were very small. On a positive note, the pool area was nice and the staff was friendly and helpful. Great location but would pick a different hotel in the same vicinity for the next trip.

My boyfriend and I recently booked and stayed in a Lake View room at the Hilton on Michigan Avenue. It was our first vacation together as we rarely have the chance to get away together due to our busy schedules. Therefore, we were looking forward to the perfect weekend. The Hilton on Michigan Avenue is in a great location - it can't be beat - and from our entrance into the hotel, it looked and felt perfectly grand. Unfortunately, when waking up the first morning in our hotel room, we discovered a used condom and an empty bottle of alcohol next to and under the bed! For a room with a beautiful lake view and for the price we paid, we expected more in terms of cleanliness. Ultimately, it made us wonder what else may not have been clean in the room (i..e, were the sheets clean? etc.). I also noticed that the shower was not very clean with stray hairs on the wall. Due to these discoveries, we cut our trip short one day. When I approached the staff at the front desk to explain what I had found, there was no attempt made on their part to provide a discounted rate or accommodate us in any way. The other thing I would say (and which I knew when I booked the hotel room) is that for the price you pay, use of the fitness facility should be included in the price of the room. Why does the Hilton need to charge an additional price?? The best thing about this hotel is the location and also the breakfast buffet at the restaurant downstairs. The wait staff was extremely friendly and the food was excellent.

We recently stayed here for two nights. I am very picky when it comes to hotels. The rooms were spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable. Our room had two double beds and two full bathrooms which was nice since there was four of us in the room. The Hilton is in walking distance to Shedd Aquarium, Soldier Field and the other museum. There is a red line station 2 blocks from the hotel and we used that to travel the city. It was very easy to navigate and took us close to the places we wanted to go. I definitely recommend staying here if you don't care about staying on the magnificent mile. Save your money! It will take you 10 minutes to get to the north end of Michigan Avenue taking the red line. The concierge was very helpful in making reservations for us, giving suggestions and telling us where to find different places. The restaruant seemed overpriced but so is everything in the city. We got free breakfast with our stay and they have a wonderfuI breakfast buffet everyday. The normal cost for that is $*. At night you had to show your room key in order to have access to the elevators. This was a nice safety feature. I would definitely stay here again!

A few friends and I recently stayed at the Hilton Chicago for 3 nights. We have a very spacious room, it was in the corner of the building and we had a window view of the city and the lake. Our biggest complaint was that there was not a microwave or refrigerator in the room, which meant a lot of wasted food. The front desk was not rude, but not very friendly. The doormen, however, were extremely helpful and friendly. The pool was decent sized, but usually full of children (it was spring break). There were also 2 Jacuzzi’s which we found relaxing. It was about a mile off of the magnificent mile, which meant a lot walking to get to the stores. There were always at least 6 taxi's waiting outside, which was nice. The concierge was helpful with different restaurants to eat at. If you take time to explore you'll notice that the hotel is absolutely beautiful.

My son and I went to Chicago for the weekend. The hotel room was very large and the bathroom was great. They have a great swimming pool and the staff was very helpful and knowledgeable about the local area. Wonderful!!
