We had a great experience -- the hotel is close to attractions, southshore railroad, redline we were in for a Cubs game and walked to Navy Pier. The only thing that we would possibly write about was some of the 'routine' cleaning in the room. We found a used straw and hair pin on the carpet by one of the tables which was overlooked. However, the rest of the room was well kept, it was quite, and the bed was very comfortable. We would recommend staying here and would also book here again.

  • AWESOME!

This hotel is in a great location. Close to Michigan Ave and Magnificent Mile. Tons of stuff to do in walking distance. It's clean and my room was huge for a hotel like this. However, it was NOISY! Not from the street from the inside. I don't think there is any insulation in the walls, so if someone comes down the hall with their luggage or flushes the toilet, you can hear it very clearly. If you are a light sleeper, and you need to be fresh for your travels, look elsewhere.

This Hyatt Regency is basically a "factory" for pumping people in and then pumping them out. They have hundreds and hundreds of rooms and thousands of people staying there. And as such, you are treated like cattle here. Get in, get out, don't ask questions, and keep moving please. Upon entry, we were greeted by a rude bell captain working the entrance driveway. He seemed annoyed that we were checking in and ordered us to park. He never said, Hello, Welcome, or Thank You. He also did not inform us that we needed to go to the second floor to check in. After wandering around the large entry way, we finally found check in. Trust me, its not easy to find. There were 40 people in line and only 2 people working the front desk. After 45 minutes, we were finally able to check in. The lady working the check-in was not completely fluent in English. It was obvious English was her second language. She was nice, but not the level of what should be expected for this establishment. Thankfully, We were given a nice room with a great view. The problem was, the walls at this hotel are paper thin, and you can hear everything in the rooms on both sides. We were shocked to hear tvs, conversations, music, and yes, even that. The conversations were not anything above a talking level, but yet could be easily heard next door, so be careful what you say or do here. Our final complaint was the valet service. Not only was it $50 a day, but it was a 40 minute wait to get our car. NOT RECOMMENDED !! One Great Thing....The Big Bar is Awesome. Great Drinks & Great Service ! You will be nickled and dimed here !!

This hotel use to be my favorite place to stay in Chicago Ive probably stayed there 6 times over 10 years but July 2009 I stayed there and it was so dirty and run down. The furniture was all beat up the carpets very dirty. After the 2nd room was unacceptable I went down to the desk and was asked to wait while they processed about 10 flight attendants and pilots. I told them I certainly would not! I tried 3 rooms and settled on the one that stunk because the view was so great compared to the 1st room where my window looked into a brick wall.. and the hotel was not full. The stinky room smelled like someone had left a messy diaper.. but I discovered the smell coming from the sink overflow drain. We kept disinfectant and sprays down it so we could tolerate it for the 3 days we were there. I wonder how housekeeping could have ignored it.
